Childhood immunizations in the United States

The schedule of childhood immunizations in the United States is given by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/ )〕 The vaccination schedule is broken down by age: birth to six years of age, seven to eighteen, and adults nineteen and older.
Childhood Immunizations are key in preventing children for diseases that were once epidemics. Thimersal was a mercury containing ingredient that used to be in immunizations. Thimersal created a hype among mothers because they thought it maybe related to Autism.
==Balance of risks==
It is important to remember that vaccines are continually monitored for safety, and like any medication, vaccines can cause side effects, most of which are minor and go away within a few days. There is a risk that the child could have a severe allergic reaction, but these reactions are rare. However, a decision not to immunize a child also involves risk and could put the child and others who come into contact with him or her at risk of contracting a potentially deadly disease.〔(Vaccination Side Effects )〕
